Arts and Culture Programming

By 2035, 250 arts and culture programs or projects funded by WPF will be intentionally designed, developed, and presented to prioritize creative experiences and inclusive, welcoming practices to engage people of diverse abilities and backgrounds.

Engaging with the arts builds a sense of connection among participants and/or within community, reinforces cultural identities, and improves community livability and resilience. High-quality performances, exhibitions, hands-on opportunities to make art, and other arts and culture experiences also catalyze a greater understanding of and appreciation for other cultures and backgrounds.

In order to help more people across Greater Philadelphia connect to arts and culture, we are focusing on supporting high-quality arts and culture experiences intentionally designed, developed, and presented to engage and benefit a specific community or audience.

The Foundation recognizes that there are many ways that organizations and communities can contribute to advancing this objective and are looking for grant seekers’ best ideas on how to accomplish this across the region.  We will prioritize support for performances, exhibitions, and other arts and culture projects designed to address historic inequities of access to arts and culture experiences.
