The William Penn Foundation (the “Foundation”) is committed to protecting your privacy when you visit its Website.  Please read this Website Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”), as well as our Terms of Use for more details about how we use information you submit to this Website located at https://williampennfoundation.org (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy together with the Terms of Use, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Foundation relating to this Site.  By your use of the Site, you consent to be governed by this Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of this Privacy Policy at any time. Your continued use of the Site following reasonable notice of such modifications will be deemed acceptance of any changes to this Privacy Policy.  You agree that notice of changes to the Privacy Policy posted on the Site constitutes reasonable and sufficient notice.  At all times, you are bound by the then-current version of the Privacy Policy and all applicable laws.  We recommend that you review this Privacy Policy from time to time to ensure that you are familiar with the most recent version.

Personal Information Provided by You

The Foundation only collects your personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) through this Site when you choose to provide such information or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.  This Privacy Policy only applies to information collected on this Site, and does not address personal information that you provide to us in other contexts (e.g., through a business relationship not handled through the Site).  Personal Information can include your name, address, telephone number, and/or email address.  The Foundation uses your Personal Information to address your requests for information.  The Foundation will not sell, rent, license, or trade your Personal Information with third-parties for their own direct marketing use.  Any change to this Privacy Policy that materially affects your rights to your Personal Information will not take effect until 30 days after notice of such change is posted on the Site, during which time you may notify us that you do not accept such change.  Your continued use of the Site after such 30 day period will mean that you accept such changes.

The Foundation may disclose Personal Information in connection with conducting audits, responding to legal and/or regulatory requirements, enforcing the Foundation’s policies, or in responding to complaints or safety or security concerns.  The Foundation may also share your Personal Information with law enforcement or other governmental officials, in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity. The Foundation will disclose Personal Information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Automatically Collected Information and Anonymous Information

Each time a visitor comes to the Site, the Foundation collects some information to improve the overall quality of the visitor’s online experience. Such information may include referral data (e.g., the address of the last URL a user visited prior to clicking through to the Site) and your web browser and operating platform type.

  1. Aggregated Data:  In addition to collecting these types of information, the Foundation collects aggregate queries for internal reporting.  The Foundation also counts, tracks and aggregates the visitor's activity into the Foundation’s analysis of general traffic flow at the Site.  To these ends, the Foundation may merge information about you into aggregated group data and other databases.  In some cases, the Foundation may remove personal identifiers from Personal Information and maintain it in aggregate form that may later be combined with other information to generate anonymous, aggregated statistical information.  Such anonymous, group data may be shared on an aggregated basis with the Foundation’s affiliates, service providers and/or vendors; if it does so, the Foundation will not disclose your individual identity (except as permitted under this Privacy Policy).
  2. Web Server Logs and IP Addresses:  An Internet Protocol (“IP”) address is a number that automatically identifies the computer/machine you have used to access the Internet. The IP address enables our server to send you the webpages that you want to visit, and it may disclose the server owned by your Internet Service Provider.  The Foundation may use IP addresses to conduct Site analyses and performance reviews and to administer the Site.
  3. Cookies:  Cookies are pieces of information that a Website transfers to a user’s computer for purposes of storing information about a user’s preferences.  Cookies in and of themselves do not personally identify users, although they do identify a user’s computer.  Many Websites use cookies as a standard practice to provide useful features when a user visits the site and most Web browsers are set up to accept cookies.  The Foundation uses cookies to improve your online experience when visiting the Site.  You can set your browser to refuse cookies, but some portions of the Site may not work properly if you refuse cookies.

The Site contains links to third-party Websites that may offer information of interest or serve other purposes (for example, a third-party Website accessed for the purpose of submitting grant applications to the Foundation).  This Privacy Policy does not apply to those Websites, and the Foundation recommends reviewing those Websites’ privacy policies individually.  As discussed in the Foundation’s Terms of Use, the Foundation is not responsible for the content at these third-party sites.

Security

The Foundation has established reasonable precautions to protect collected Personal Information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Although the Foundation takes reasonable precautions to assess the reliability of such technology, it relies on the statements of the vendors of those products and services as part of its security evaluation.  Please note that although the Foundation has endeavored to create a secure and reliable Site for users, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to/from the Site cannot be guaranteed.
