There is strength in numbers, data, collaboration, and networks. And that’s true for Philadelphia’s arts and culture sector. Research, evaluation, and data can help organizations of different sizes, disciplines, and histories improve programming practices overall.  Knowledge- and network-building so that inclusive, equitable, and community informed programing practices can be shared, serve to strengthen the sector so that more people, especially those in what have traditionally been underserved communities, can experience the benefits of the arts.

In order to provide more opportunities for Philadelphians to enjoy arts and culture, we are focusing support on strengthening the arts and culture sector.

We recognize that there are many ways that organizations and communities can contribute to advancing this objective and are looking for Philadelphians’ best ideas about how to accomplish this across the city. We are focused on those activities that have a clear path to positive change. Possible activities may include efforts to generate and share information about the Philadelphia arts and culture community to build a stronger, more collaborative sector.
