By 2035, the Foundation will have provided multi-year general operating support to 250 arts and culture organizations that play an influential role in their artistic fields and communities.
Arts and culture organizations are critical to thriving communities, creating positive social, economic, and community benefits for people. They expand horizons, connecting us to diverse ideas and cultural backgrounds and play a central role in our civic and community lives. Whether through lack of resources or lack of opportunities, these benefits are often not experienced in equal measure across all communities, especially in those that have been most affected by economic inequity, discrimination, and other forms of injustice.
In order to increase these positive benefits for more people across Greater Philadelphia, we provide multi-year general operating support so arts and culture organizations – large and small – can deliver artistically strong and relevant arts and culture experiences and leverage their resources to play an influential role in their artistic field, community, and the region.
Important Eligibility Requirement: Organizations eligible for this opportunity must have received an Arts and Culture (previously Creative Communities) grant within the past 10 years. Arts and Culture grantees who are currently funded with their first William Penn Foundation grant must have completed at least one year of that grant.
