By 2035, 125 WPF-funded capital projects will enhance existing arts and culture spaces that are vital to their artistic fields and communities, making spaces safe, accessible, and welcoming to people of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
To deliver on the promise of providing high-quality arts and culture experiences for more people in the Philadelphia region, there is a great need for accessible spaces and places that can serve the needs of artists and audiences. Not only do these places serve as exhibition, performance, and arts education venues, they also bring significant local and regional benefits to the economy. They contribute to the city's cultural identity and serve as places where creativity, expression and connections can happen, and social fabrics are formed.
Well-designed, well-maintained spaces can play a central role in elevating new approaches to programming, engagement, and business models that can engage more people and lead to greater vitality and growth in the arts and culture sector.
In order to help ensure residents of our region can take part in arts and culture experiences, we are supporting improvements to existing arts and culture spaces.
Projects that strongly align with the criteria in our dedicated Capital Support decision-making framework will be most competitive for funding.
