VIDEO: Creative Communities Research and Grantmaking Program Briefing

The Creative Communities program hosted an informational webinar on two recent research projects exploring the benefits of arts, culture, and public space and how they are distributed in our communities.

NORC at the University of Chicago's, The Outcomes of Arts Engagement for Individuals and Communities was completed in April 2021. This study evaluates the myriad individual-level, social and community related outcomes related to engagement with arts culture and public space.

In 2019 we funded Temple University's Department of Geography and Urban Studies to create The Benefits and Costs of Urban Public Spaces, an analysis of who uses public space, how they use it, and the benefits people can receive with sustained access to high quality public spaces.

Click the video below to learn about the findings from these studies and hear from Creative Communities Program staff about how this research has informed their upcoming program refinement.
