Program Officer

Caralyn is a Philadelphia native who has been working in the non-profit and commercial arts sectors for more than 25 years. As a Program Officer on the Creative Communities team, her grant portfolio supports arts organizations throughout the city with a focus at the intersection of arts, innovation, and social change, and how arts leaders and artists are helping to make the neighborhoods they work in and serve more vital, joyful, equitable, and welcoming places.

Previously, she worked in marketing and business management for shows off and on Broadway like ChicagoThe Rocky Horror Show, Annie Get Your Gun, Spamalot, and The Donkey Show. As Program Manager for the Columbia University Arts Initiative, Caralyn produced new programs to make the arts and culture of New York City more accessible to Columbia students, faculty, staff, alumni, and neighbors. During the Obama Administration, she was the deputy and chief of staff to the Senior Deputy Chair and the Senior Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. Caralyn is a graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University and the Executive Program in Arts and Culture Strategy at the Social of Social Policy, University of Pennsylvania.
