Today, we announced support for the City of Philadelphia’s non-partisan My Vote My Way public education campaign to ensure that all Philadelphians, regardless of party affiliation or lack thereof, have the information they need to effectively exercise their right to vote. Given the special challenges resulting from the pandemic, it’s critical that voters understand the ways they can vote safely, and are reassured their votes will be counted.

A $100,000 grant to the Mayor’s Fund for Philadelphia will support a campaign to educate Philadelphians about the ways to vote in the General Election, including emphasis on the following:

  • All voting options are safe, legitimate, and secure.
  • Voting options available to Philadelphia voters include:
    • Mail-in/Absentee
    • Satellite Election Offices
    • In-person Voting on November 3
  • Complete everything early this year, including voter registration, making a plan to vote, mail-in ballot application, and mailing in your ballot (if voting by mail.)

The campaign will also help instill a sense of security and legitimacy in this election, as well as prepare voters for the likelihood that election results may not be available the same day.

Pennsylvania will be on the national stage this Presidential election, and we hope you will join us in supporting this important non-partisan voter education effort in Philadelphia. Organizations or individuals who would like to learn more about how to support My Vote My Way should contact Olivia Baackes, Director of Advancement at the City of Philadelphia.

Thank you,

Janet Haas, M.D.
